Planning minister commends housing developments achieving Built for Life status

Planning minister Nick Boles personally commended housing developments achieving Built for Life status at an event in Nottingham on 3 April 2014.

The invitation-only awards presentation was held at Nottingham Trent University where the minister highlighted the areas of design in which the 16 celebrated developments have excelled.

The minister visited two local developments in Castle Donington and Melbourne which have achieved Built for Life status where scheme residents, local planning authorities and local communities represented by the parish councils are all equally happy with the scheme.

The event marked the first public commendation of Built for Life schemes. There will be a number of similar events in different locations over the coming 12 months.
